Case eRewenda: A Tailored Service Package Offers a Comprehensive View of Insurance

With the help of eRewenda, individuals responsible for a company's insurance can view all the insurance policies held by the entire group through a single up-to-date view.

Cloud1 developed the eRewenda service for Rewenda Oy, intended for electronic transactions. The new service automates routine procedures. It makes life easier both for Rewenda staff and for corporate clients using electronic insurance services.

Rewenda Oy is now part of the international insurance broker group Söderberg & Partners. The company offers highly specialized insurance brokerage services to Finnish companies, public entities, and international businesses operating in Finland. Söderberg & Partners is a market leader in insurance brokerage and financial advisory services in the Nordic countries.

An Innovative Solution Brings Efficiency

The goal of the eRewenda project was to streamline the movement of data between Rewenda, its customers, and other key stakeholders. The developed service package aimed to provide additional value to customers, streamline internal processes, ease workflow, and improve quality by offering a centralized solution for data management. Rewenda wanted to implement its key service processes as a cloud service, utilizing interfaces and electronic data transfer from insurance companies and other common operators.

The end goal of the service was to increase efficiency, reduce the need for manual labor, and thus increase productivity. Additionally, it aimed to provide a real-time comprehensive view of insurance objects. In designing eRewenda, careful consideration was given to how the service would simplify the daily work of insurance brokers and reduce the need for manual labor. Previously, data management used a third-party service, which did not fully scale to the company’s needs.

The Service Offers Customers a Comprehensive View of Insurances

For Rewenda's clients, the service offers significant benefits as it provides a single comprehensive view of insurances at both the company and group level. With eRewenda, financial directors and individuals responsible for the company's insurances can view all the insurances held by the entire organization through an up-to-date view, thus gaining a clear overall picture of existing insurance solutions, insurance periods, and payments.

For many companies, this means concrete time savings, as individual insurance policies do not need to be separately searched for from different insurance companies' services.

Customized Service Package as an Azure PaaS Solution

From a technical perspective, the implementation is a customized service package built as an Azure PaaS solution. It enables connections to various insurance companies, mobile-friendly user interfaces, workflows, notifications, and comprehensive analytics and reports. Azure AD facilitates user management that seamlessly integrates with common identity management services.

In the initial phase of the project, a customer registry was constructed, and the most essential insurance categories were integrated into the service. From there, the project has progressed incrementally, with new features being gradually added to the service.

Cloud1 was chosen as the service provider because word of their successful implementation in another organization had spread. From the first meetings, there seemed to be a good connection between the companies. A positive vibe and similar thoughts about the execution of the future service brought the parties together.

The project has progressed from planning to production in stages. Although each development cycle has resulted in the completion of a specific area, there are still many development ideas in the pipeline to be implemented later, as user needs increase.

The Benefits of the Service 

Kari-Pekka Hakala from Rewenda reports that the goals set for the new service have been achieved. eRewenda has proven to be functional and useful in practice.

For the in-house experts, the tool has brought significant relief to daily customer work and greatly sped up internal processes. The service has also been beneficial in acquiring new customers, as a similar service was previously missing from the market.

In designing eRewenda, it was important that it adds value for its users. The service aimed to provide an easy-to-use and up-to-date view of the entire organization's insurance situation for corporate financial directors or those responsible for insurances.

Abundant and appreciative customer feedback indicates that the service has fulfilled its promises. eRewenda has been a much-needed addition to the range of services in the industry.
