Nea Tamminen Delivers Results Through Clear Communication

Nea Tamminen, a delivery lead at Norrin, explains how transparent communication and calm under pressure help her deliver complex IT projects with high marks.

Meet Nea Tamminen, a Delivery Lead and crossfit enthusiast working at Norrin. Nea consistently manages multiple parallel workstreams with composure and clear communication.

”I have two younger sisters, and growing up I was the ‘family manager’. I think my inclination toward management stems from there”, Nea says.

Nea is a Delivery Lead at Norrin, a key role responsible for managing projects, priorities, budgets and timelines to ensure successful client outcomes. The position is client-specific, with Nea overseeing all projects delivered to a particular client.

“Much of the job centers on aligning priorities with clients and tracking progress with teams. The rest of my day I spend planning, scheduling, adjusting and doing whatever necessary to help our teams meet their targets.”  

Nea is well liked by both clients and teams and is respected as someone who can be trusted to stay on top of even the most complex deliveries. According to her, it all comes down to communication skills.

“My one rule is to never make assumptions. If a client has a development need, I ask about its priority, deadline, and budget. When working with team members, I double-check that everybody is on the same page.”

Clear communication and staying calm across multiple parallel workstreams are Nea’s keys to success. While her management skills may have started to develop in childhood, she says she learned the importance of communication the hard way.  

“’Siberia teaches’ as we Finns say, and one of the biggest insights I learned early in my career is the importance of communicating transparently, early and often. Even difficult discussions are made easier if you approach them quickly and openly.”

Nea’s education is in business and legal studies but she has worked her entire career in the IT industry. According to her, there’s a common misconception that you must have a technical background to work in IT, but in reality, there’s a demand for all kinds of skills.

“I liked the idea of working with digital solutions and my educational background has proven highly useful.”

Nea appreciates the good work-crossfit balance at Norrin

Outside of work, Nea is an avid crossfitter and holds the national title (Masters Division) in Functional Fitness from 2025. With a training program that takes up 12 hours a week, one of the things she appreciates in Norrin as employer is the freedom she has to schedule her work.

“Meetings aside, we are free to work when and where we like. It makes a big difference with my schedules. I like to get an early start and head to the gym once I’m done.”

Another factor that drew Nea to Norrin was the company’s size and growth orientation. At Norrin, she found a dynamic workplace where she can shape both her role and her career.  

“At this point in my career, I’ve come to appreciate the opportunities that data and integration solutions provide. I don’t have a clear career goal, but I feel that Norrin gives me the opportunity to shape my direction going forward.”
